The “Eichstätt Lithography Collection”
Apart from an orientation towards the classical technique of stone printing, the formal quality of the oeuvre which should be as contemporary as possible is an essential criterion
when invitations to stay as a guest artist or artist in residence are extended.
Cross-relations to other contemporary visual options,as offered for instance by the computer,
may play a role. Of central importance should be the specific approach to the stone.
In return for being invited, the artists give prints of the works done in the workshop to the “Eichstätt Lithography Collection.” This collection, owned by the city of Eichstätt, will be permanently preserved by the library of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.
Thus, the works can be exhibited both locally and beyond the limits of the region.
